Senior Director, Global Business Transformation

As our Senior Director, Global Business Transformation, you won’t just improve processes — you’ll re-architect how thousands of businesses experience Avalara and how 1,800+ employees deliver value every day.
Reporting to the VP, Global Business Excellence, you’ll partner directly with Avalara’s executive leadership team to take bold ideas from strategy to execution. You’ll lead a global team of transformation leaders, automation specialists, and analysts, turning complex challenges into scalable solutions that deliver measurable impact for customers, partners, and the business.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Lead enterprise-wide business transformation programs that align Avalara’s strategic goals with executional outcomes.
- Translate Avalara’s priorities into actionable initiatives with measurable ROI.
- Partner with senior executives to embed AI, automation, and analytics into global operations.
- Build and inspire a 60–75 person team of transformation leaders, automation specialists, and analysts across the U.S., UK, and India.
- Deliver executive-level storytelling through data, influencing decisions at VP and C-suite levels.
- Provide governance, metrics, and transparency on transformation outcomes.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
- 15+ years in business transformation, strategy, or operational leadership.
- Proven success leading strategic change at scale in SaaS, FinTech, or global enterprises.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence at C-level.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, and automation preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical fluency with KPIs, metrics, and business intelligence platforms.
- High EQ, low ego, able to build trust and lead through influence.
