Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and organized Sales Assistant / Lead Qualification Specialist to help manage incoming leads and confirm whether potential customers are a good fit for Unity Home Improvement’s services.

This role is responsible for contacting new leads quickly, gathering project details, confirming service area and project type, checking customer readiness, and scheduling qualified appointments for the sales or estimating team. The ideal candidate is professional, friendly, detail-oriented, and comfortable speaking with homeowners by phone, text, and email.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to incoming leads from calls, website forms, social media, referrals, and other sources.

  • Contact homeowners to confirm their interest and gather basic project information.

  • Qualify leads based on service type, location, project timeline, budget readiness, and decision-making status.

  • Confirm that the project is located in the Northern Virginia service area.

  • Identify whether the customer needs kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, home additions, concrete work, or another related service.

  • Ask clear questions to understand the customer’s goals, project size, timeline, and expectations.

  • Schedule appointments, consultations, or estimate visits for qualified leads.

  • Keep accurate notes in the CRM, spreadsheet, or lead tracking system.

  • Follow up with leads who have not responded.

  • Help maintain a professional and positive first impression of Unity Home Improvement.

  • Communicate qualified lead details clearly to the owner, estimator, or sales team.

  • Flag unqualified leads respectfully and document the reason.

  • Support basic administrative sales tasks as needed.

Lead Qualification Criteria

The Sales Assistant should confirm whether each lead is qualified by checking:

  • The customer is located in Northern Virginia.

  • The requested work matches Unity Home Improvement’s services.

  • The homeowner has a real project need, not just a vague inquiry.

  • The customer has a reasonable project timeline.

  • The customer is willing to schedule a consultation or estimate.

  • The customer is a homeowner or authorized decision-maker.

  • The project appears serious enough for the sales or estimating team to review.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in sales support, customer service, appointment setting, construction, remodeling, or home services preferred.

  • Strong phone communication skills.

  • Friendly, professional, and patient with homeowners.

  • Highly organized and able to track multiple leads at once.

  • Comfortable using email, text messaging, spreadsheets, CRM systems, or lead management tools.

  • Ability to ask qualifying questions without sounding pushy.

  • Good written communication skills.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

  • Knowledge of remodeling, construction, or home improvement services is a plus.

We build every home like we would build our own. This is not just business to us; this is personal. We spend a lot of time working closely with our clients to bring to life what is in their heads.
