They direct acvies to promote and maintain health. This posion provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various sengs. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. As necessary or applicable, supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards. 1. Responsible for adherence to department and paent treatment schedule, mely clinical and billing documentaon requirements as well as work related meengs. 1. Aends and contributes to paent care, staffing conferences and other related meengs. 1. Makes referrals to other disciplines and agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the paent. 1. Consults with other members of the rehabilitaon team to select the most appropriate therapeuc regimen consistent with the needs and capabilies of each paent. 1. Adapts program and/or plan of care according to the needs of the individual paent. 1. Promotes a safe environment and enforces the eliminaon of fire and safety hazards. 1. Orders supplies and equipment as necessary 2. Cleans, maintains, idenfies, and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary. 1. Puts paent service first: ensures that paents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights. 1. Screens, examines and evaluates paents, including history, systems review, and applicaon of appropriate tests and measures, synthesis informaon and interprets examinaon findings in order to establish a diagnosis, idenfy impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and the me required to achieve it, idenfy precauons/contraindicaons and design and plan of care. Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboraon with the paent and caregivers, implements the physical therapy treatment plan, and completes all related documentaon and record keeping regarding these services. Services include but are not limited to applicaon of therapeuc techniques in areas such as: ● Therapeuc exercise including aerobic capacity condioning, balance coordinaon, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilizaon, flexibility exercises, gait and locomoon training, neuromotor development training, relaxaon, strength, power, and endurance training ● Funconal training ● Manual therapy ● Airway clearance techniques ● Integumentary repair and protecon ● Use of electrotherapeuc, physical agent and mechanical modalies ● Health and Wellness ● Educaon on Chronic Disease Management ● Falls Assessment and Intervenons to reduce fall risk ● Case Management in the home and community 1. Designs, fabricates, fits and/or applies adapve devices, and trains paents in the use of adapve devices included orthocs and prosthecs. 1. Selects appropriate acvies suited to the individual’s physical and mental capacity, intelligence level and interest. 1. Instructs paent in the skills and techniques required for parcipaon in mobility acvies and evaluates paent progress, atudes, and behavior as related to rehabilitave potenal. 1. Performs roune reexaminaon as needed/required to modify/progress plan of treatment. 1. Incorporates health and wellness programming into treatment plans for paents. 2. Performs home and community mobility assessments and provides recommendaons for safe mobility in the home and community space. 1. Performs other related dues as required. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of pracce, or proof of license eligibility; and 1. They must have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy; or 1. They must have a Master’s degree in a Physical Therapy related field in addion to a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy; or 1. They must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. 1. The qualifying Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be the U.S. equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy. 1.
