Direct Support Professional (DSP)

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores. 

• Encourage and support personal development and skill-building for clients. 

• Maintain open communication with clients and their families, actively listening to their concerns and goals. 

• Implement individualized care plans that cater to the specific needs of each person. 

• Monitor and document client progress and behavior, reporting any changes to supervisory staff. 

• Provide companionship and social interaction, fostering a positive environment. 

• Assist clients in accessing community resources, recreational activities, and social events. 

About This Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities achieve their personal goals. Your support will make a difference in their daily lives while promoting independence and community integration.

What You'll Do

• Provide personal care assistance to clients as needed.

• Offer behavioral support and crisis intervention to ensure safety and well-being.

• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.

• Monitor health and report any changes or concerns.

• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.

• Facilitate community integration activities to enhance social skills and opportunities.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in related fields is a plus. 

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or related health services is preferred. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to care. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Proficient in basic computer skills for documentation purposes. 

• Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required by state regulations. 

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. 

• Patience and a sense of humor, with a genuine interest in helping others.
