Role Description

• Develop and maintain tiered media lists; keep notes on beats, angles, and preferences.

• Pitch reporters daily; secure briefings, interviews, bylines, and mentions.

• Draft press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, messaging, and Q&As.

• Track and report coverage, sentiment, SOV, domain authority/backlinks, and reach.

• Monitor news cycles; surface reactive PR opportunities and commentary.

• Manage awards and speaking submissions; maintain editorial and events calendar.

• Maintain media newsroom resources and PR FAQ; ensure message consistency.

• Support issues/crisis comms playbooks and escalation workflows.

Qualification

• 2–4 years PR experience (agency or in-house) with visible earned wins.

• Strong reporter relationships in AI; fast outreach cadence.

• Excellent writing and editing; AP style; headline discipline.

• Comfortable with embargoes, exclusives, and data-driven story angles.

• Tools: Muck Rack/Cision/Propel, Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, AirTable or similar.

• Metrics literacy: placements, SOV, backlink quality, CAC influence, referral traffic.

• Organized, deadline-reliable, and calm under time pressure.

Nice to Have

• Startup or high-growth B2B tech experience.

• Byline development and op-ed placement experience.

• Analyst relations support.

• SEO basics for PR, and link-building ethics.

30/60/90 Day Plan

• 30 days: Audit narrative, build media lists, draft core boilerplate and PR FAQ, validate spokesperson bench, secure 3–5 warm reporter intros.

• 60 days: Ship one announcement package, place 5–8 quality mentions, submit two awards/speaking.

• 90 days: Land 1–2 tier-one features or bylines; publish a quarterly PR report with SOV trends and next bets.
