Job Summary
The Roller Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains industrial roller machines to shape, bend, flatten, or laminate materials according to exact engineering specifications. This role ensures smooth machine performance, maintains tight product tolerances, and adheres strictly to plant safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup: Set up roller machinery, adjust speed, pressure, roll gap, and alignment based on material thickness and job specifications.
Material Handling: Load raw stock (metal sheets, coils, paper, plastic, or textiles) onto feeder systems manually or using overhead cranes and forklifts.
Quality Assurance: Inspect finished pieces using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures) to ensure compliance with blueprints.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of roller surfaces; identify mechanical issues and notify maintenance personnel when needed.
Production Logging: Maintain accurate daily logs of output volume, material scrap, machine downtime, and quality check results.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and facility-specific safety protocols, including wearing required PPE at all times.
