COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
State-of-the-art PCAB and ACHC accredited compounding pharmacy in Ramsey, NJ, seeks a full-time pharmacist with experience in non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. This position will involve managing all aspects of the production of a compounded preparation while ensuring compliance with all company standard operating procedures and state and federal regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will include performing the day-to-day responsibilities of a compounding pharmacist, such as:
・ Processing prescription orders
・ Communicating clinical and technical information with other healthcare professionals
・ Interpreting and evaluating physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, accuracy, safety, and compliance
・ Checking compounded batch records, formula worksheets, and computer order entries for appropriate ingredients, calculations, techniques, and instructions
・ Creating formulations for patient-specific compounded medications pursuant to a physician’s order
・ Providing drug information and consultations to patients
・ Providing guidance and supervision to pharmacy technicians performing duties related to compounded medications
・ Compounding high-risk sterile products in compliance with USP 797 regulations
・ Adhering to state, federal, and company regulations in the practice of pharmacy
・ Other responsibilities necessary for the operation of a compounding pharmacy
QUALIFICATIONS:
・ B.S Pharmacy or PharmD degree
・ Current and valid New Jersey BOP pharmacist license
・ Knowledge of pharmacy compounding calculations
・ Excellent computer skills
・ Adapts well to change
・ Strong communication skills
・ Knowledge of aseptic technique, USP 797, USP 795, and USP 800 guidelines is strongly preferred
・ Sterile compounding certificate optional
・ Compounding training class preferred
・ Experience working in a sterile clean room is optional
・ Professional Experience
・ 1+ years’ experience as a staff compounding pharmacist is preferred
・ Experience working in a 503a compounding pharmacy is preferred
