Fractional CFO

We’re looking for a Fractional CFO who can grow with us — someone who thrives in fast-moving startups and mission-driven businesses. You will work directly with the Founder/CEO to manage financial strategy, track grant funding, ensure compliance, and help build the financial systems we need to scale from handcrafted to mass-market while staying true to our values.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch, working closely with visionaries, and using finance as a tool for empowerment and impact.
Our Fractional CFO would help us steward and scale sustainable impact.
Ideally, this person can assist Pure Light Botanical Beauty with:

Financial Strategy & Planning
• Strategic financial forecasting and modeling
• Budget creation and oversight for CPG or startup brands
• Cash flow management and burn rate analysis
• Long-term financial planning aligned with sustainable growth

Grant & Fund Management
• Experience managing government or private grants
• Knowledge of reporting requirements, compliance, and fund allocation
• Ability to track and justify use of capital tied to mission-driven outcomes
• Strong recordkeeping and audit preparation skills

KPI & Performance Monitoring
• Establishing and tracking key performance indicators
• Data interpretation for profitability, growth, and inventory
• Regular financial dashboards and performance reports

CPG & Product-Based Business Acumen
• Understanding of inventory costing, supply chain flow, and margin optimization
• Familiarity with manufacturing, packaging, and fulfillment dynamics
• Ability to support decisions around pricing, scaling, and operational costs

Financial Compliance & Risk Management
• Familiarity with GAAP standards, tax regulations, and best practices
• Risk assessment and internal controls
• Experience working with accountants/bookkeepers and preparing for tax season

Mission-Driven Alignment
• Genuine interest in sustainability, clean beauty, or women-led businesses
• Ability to help structure finances in alignment with ethical growth
• Comfortable working with visionary founders in creative and high-growth stages

Communication & Collaboration
• Strong communicator who can break down complex financial info into actionable insights
• Experience collaborating with small, nimble teams
• Ability to advise on financial decisions with empathy, clarity, and precision
