Job description

Staff Platform Engineer (U.S. Work Authorization Required)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid)

Compensation: $180K - $220K base + meaningful equity (up to $250K for exceptional candidates)

We are building the operating system for a rapidly growing logistics industry. Our platform powers quoting, planning, operations, payments, and other mission critical workflows that move real world assets and money.

As our engineering team scales, we are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to design and own the internal infrastructure that enables engineers to ship quickly, safely, and reliably.

This is a high leverage role where you will define the systems that every engineer builds on top of. You will architect the foundations for CI/CD, runtime environments, observability, and deployment workflows while working closely with a small team of senior engineers shipping production software every day.

We are an early stage, high ownership environment where engineers operate with autonomy and move quickly. Reliability, correctness, and developer velocity are critical as our platform scales.

What You Will Do

• Architect and evolve platform infrastructure including CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment workflows

• Build internal platforms that standardize how services are built, deployed, configured, and observed

• Design and maintain runtime environments and containerized deployments

• Own release infrastructure including safety checks, rollback strategies, and production validation

• Partner with backend engineers to improve developer velocity and operational reliability

• Define standards for APIs, service ownership, configuration management, and environment consistency

• Design observability systems that provide clear insight into system health and performance

• Lead root cause analysis for platform or production incidents and implement long term fixes

• Help shape the long term platform roadmap as the company scales

What We Are Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant platform or infrastructure ownership

• Experience designing and operating production infrastructure in AWS or GCP

• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure

• Experience with containerized environments and infrastructure as code

• Strong programming ability in at least one backend language such as TypeScript, Python, or Go

• Experience working in startup environments or high ownership engineering cultures

• Ability to work autonomously and build systems from concept to production

Plus/Nice to Haves:

• Early platform or infrastructure hire at a startup

• Experience working in regulated or complex domains such as fintech, logistics, or healthcare

• Experience building developer platforms or improving developer experience

• Experience experimenting with AI assisted development workflows or infrastructure

Why This Role Is Interesting

• Define the infrastructure foundations every engineer will build on

• Work with a small team of senior engineers operating with high ownership

• Build systems that support real world operations and mission critical workloads

• Join a rapidly growing platform with strong product market fit and significant runway
