Founding Product Manager Intern

OwnCare is building tools that bring transparency to healthcare billing and costs so patients can better understand and navigate the financial side of healthcare.

We’re an early-stage company working toward our first products, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to help us figure things out from the ground up.

We’re looking for people who empathize deeply with users, think independently, and enjoy solving messy real-world problems. This role involves learning directly from users, testing ideas quickly, and helping shape how our products reach the people who need them.

Role Description

Because OwnCare’s product is new, you will spend much of your time understanding users.

• Spend time talking directly with patients, providers, and other stakeholders to understand their experiences with healthcare billing and costs.

  
  

• Help us run customer discovery interviews and synthesize what we learn into insights that shape our product and strategy.

  
  

• Assist in developing and testing early go-to-market ideas as we bring new tools to market.

  
  

• Work closely with a small team to turn insights into action.

  
  

• Help create simple materials and presentations to communicate to users what we’re learning and building.

• Look at early performance metrics and user feedback to help us refine our approach. 

Qualification

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, or a Technical field. 

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

• Strong execution ability - bias toward execution - correct over perfect.

• Instinct for quality.

This role begins as an unpaid internship, allowing us to work closely together as we build the company and see how we collaborate as a team. Strong contributors may have the opportunity to grow into founding members as OwnCare develops.
