Cosmetologist

Under direction of the Activities Director, the Cosmetologist provides skilled hair care to Nursing Home residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:

(1) Shampoos, cuts, and blow dries hair; applies permanent waves; identifies and treats scalp problems (e.g. dandruff, etc.).

(2) Schedules residents for appointments; transports residents to and from beauty shop as necessary; cleans and sanitizes equipment and hair care instruments; performs maintenance on hair care equipment; maintains inventory of supplies necessary to perform services; picks up and delivers supplies as required.

(3) Attends meetings and serves on committees, as directed; attends training and seminars, as directed.

(4) Maintains required licensure or certification, if any.

(5) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

(6) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Performs other related duties as necessary.
