Position:

Account Manager

 Position Summary:

This position is responsible for understanding our products and planning, organizing, directing and controlling company resources to help ensure the successful completion of specific automotive applications on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the customer. This person will work closely with the International Business and Product Development Teams in our headquarters on the development. Serves customers by identifying their needs; engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.

 Major Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Identifies current and future customer business requirements by establishing personal rapport  with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand business requirements. Provides product and engineering information by answering questions and requests.

·        Create new business opportunities, business contacts developed, work under the direction of the Sales Manager and President to strengthen these relationships in an effort to gain future business.

·        Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.

·        Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers.

·        Follow up and provide feedback to Sales Manager and President. Review competitiveness with the customer on recently completed quotations.

·        Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.

·        Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.

·        Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.

·        Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

§  Establish and maintain a working relationship with the customer’s product engineering and purchasing staffs by performing timely visits and/or maintaining periodic phone correspondence.

§  Prepares and maintains customer visit reports and sales records.

§  Report sales activities (prospects, projections, strategies, program status, etc) to Sales Manager and President.

§  Evaluate product performance improvements or cost reduction possibilities and implement or manage appropriate action(s).

§  Collect and analyze competitive information

 

Qualifications:

§  Bachelors degree in Engineering or technical discipline

§  Ability to travel locally, out-of-state, and internationally to customer sites and intra-company locations.


§  Knowledge/experience in automotive program management.

§  Problem Solving, Selling to Customer Needs and Presentation Skills

§  Strong written and verbal communication skills

§  Ability to be a self-starter

§  Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.

§  Strong technical knowledge of product and process

§  3-5 years automotive related experience and/or training

 

Desirable:

§  Automotive exhaust knowledge/experience

§  Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) knowledge/experience

§  OEM Sales experience
