About the Role:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Tax Professional. Support a full-service CPA and advisory firm providing tax, accounting, assurance, business valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services to a broad range of clients. Seeking manager level senior Tax Professional to join a growing tax practice. This leadership role is responsible for reviewing complex tax returns, managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and providing tax planning and advisory services to a diverse client base.

Responsibilities:

  • Review complex federal and state tax returns for: High-net-worth individuals, Partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, and C corporations, Estates and trusts, Gift and estate tax returns, and Not-for-profit organizations.

  • Provide tax planning and consulting services to individuals and businesses.

  • Research and resolve complex tax issues.

  • Manage multiple client engagements and ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and seniors.

  • Assist with IRS and state tax examinations and notices.

Must to Have:

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license strongly preferred.

  • Recent public accounting tax experience, preferably at the Senior, Supervisor, Manager, or Senior Manager level.

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing complex tax returns, not solely preparing basic individual or small-business returns.

  • Strong experience with several of the following:

  1. High-net-worth individual taxation

  2. Closely held businesses

  3. Partnerships and LLCs

  4. S corporations

  5. C corporations

  6. Estates and trusts

  7. Gift and estate tax

  8. Not-for-profit organizations

  9. Multistate taxation

  10. Tax examinations and notices

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple client engagements and meeting tax-season deadlines.

  • Prior supervisory, mentoring, and tax-review experience required.

  • Strong tax research and technical problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong client relationship and advisory skills.

  • Ability to independently identify tax issues and develop practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a sophisticated or diversified CPA firm client base.

  • Experience with complex or multijurisdictional tax engagements.

  • Experience with international tax matters or clients with international tax considerations.

  • Experience with tax planning and projections beyond annual compliance.

  • Experience with nonprofit and foundation tax matters.

  • Experience supporting business transactions, estate planning, ownership changes, or other significant tax events.

  • Strong familiarity with professional tax software and electronic tax research tools used in modern public accounting environments.

  • Experience with platforms such as CCH Axcess, CCH ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters UltraTax, GoSystem Tax RS, or comparable professional tax systems is preferred.

  • Strong QuickBooks and accounting-system knowledge is a plus.

The successful candidate will be a public accounting tax professional who has progressed beyond return preparation into review, engagement management, client advisory, and staff leadership.

This position is best suited for someone who:

  • Has worked recently within a CPA/public accounting environment.

  • Regularly reviews complex individual and business tax returns.

  • Has experience with sophisticated client situations rather than primarily basic 1040 and small-business compliance.

  • Has substantial experience with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.

  • Has meaningful exposure to estates, trusts, gift/estate tax, and nonprofit taxation.

  • Has supervised or mentored tax professionals.
