- The candidate’s current job title should be Data Engineer. The second client’s job title should be Data Scientist and should include experience with Statistical Reporting.

Required Skills:
• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including hands-on work with property and casualty insurance data (policy, premium, claims, losses, reserves)
• Strong SQL Server development: complex T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query tuning against large transactional and reporting datasets
• Proven SSIS experience building batch ETL, including incremental loads, error handling, and deployment via SQL Server Agent
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines, notebooks, and Direct Lake semantic models
• Experience with dbt and Python for transformation, testing, and documentation, implementing a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) from raw extracts through conformed and curated reporting layers
• Builds dimensional models for actuarial, underwriting, and finance reporting, with documented lineage and data quality checks
• Familiarity with P&C source systems and standards (policy admin, billing, claims platforms; bordereaux, ISO statistical reporting, ACORD a plus)
• Self-directed contractor who partners with business SMEs to translate insurance rules into pipeline logic
