Job Description – Radiologic Technologist

Position: Radiologic Technologist (General Radiology)

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Pay Rate: $2000-$2200/week

Shift: 3×12-hour shifts (Thursday, Friday & Saturday)


Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic general radiology procedures using various imaging equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. The technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established protocols.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic radiographic procedures.

  • Operate radiology imaging equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Follow radiation safety standards and infection control guidelines.

  • Verify physician orders and patient identification before procedures.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions.


Required Education

  • Associate's Degree in a related field OR

  • Certificate of Completion from an accredited Radiology Program.


Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) License in Radiologic Technology.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

  • Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration in Radiology.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging techniques.

  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of radiation protection and safety protocols.

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
