IP Biotechnology Patent Agent – Boston, Madison, Milwaukee, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Washington, DC

Amlaw 50 firm is seeking a patent agent with 2-5 years of patent counseling experience, including preparation and prosecution experience to join the firm’s pre-eminent, national Intellectual Property Department’s Chemical, Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Practice Group in our Boston, Madison, Milwaukee, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Washington DC office.

Qualified candidates must hold a PhD in the biotechnology field (i.e. Molecular Biology, Immunology, or Genetics), Chemistry, or a related field. The candidate is required to have experience drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications and preferably also in preparing patent opinions specifically in biotechnology or similar technology. Our ideal candidate will have immediately transferable skills, strong legal writing and research skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Top academics and law firm experience also required.

To be considered, candidates must have a strong academic background and must be registered to practice before the USPTO.

The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $200,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
