Job Description: Client is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Automation Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team supporting a large financial services client. In this role, you will design and develop practical, resilient cloud solutions, solving complex business problems across multiple projects, programs, and products. Your work will span the full technology lifecycle — architecture, design, coding, testing, and certification of cloud platforms, software, and applications.
You will drive strategic cloud infrastructure initiatives, build robust solutions through hands-on Python development, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure cloud solutions align with business objectives, integrate seamlessly with existing systems, and adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards.
This role calls for a hands-on engineer with strong foundational cloud and networking skills — this is not a GenAI or LLM-focused position, and candidates should bring real engineering depth in AWS, networking, and data services rather than AI-trend-driven experience.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
5+ years of hands-on experience engineering cloud platforms
Strong, hands-on Python development experience
Solid grounding in networking concepts and fundamentals (VPCs, load balancing, connectivity across enterprise platforms)
Practical experience with AWS native services in real production environments
Direct experience working with DynamoDB
Proven cloud architecture experience — designing and standing up environments, not just following existing patterns
Genuine, practical engineering experience solving real infrastructure problems (not just theoretical or certification-based knowledge)
Comfortable building for fault tolerance, including failover and recovery strategies
Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, JSON/YAML)
Understanding of security best practices — access control, data encryption, and regulatory compliance
Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
Comfortable working within an Agile team environment
Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to identify and mitigate risk on complex issues
