Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team of a growing food manufacturing organization in Los Angeles, CA.
The CFO will provide financial and operational leadership to support continued growth, profitability, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. This executive will oversee finance, accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), tax, risk management, and related business systems while playing an integral role in strategic initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and commercial operations.
The ideal candidate brings significant financial leadership experience within food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), fresh or refrigerated foods, produce, or a closely related manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute short- and long-term business and financial strategies.
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive leadership, ownership, and the Board of Directors.
Evaluate organic growth opportunities, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and new business ventures.
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning.
Analyze profitability across customers, products, channels, manufacturing facilities, and business segments.
Identify opportunities to improve margins, control costs, and increase operational efficiency.
Provide financial leadership across manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and distribution operations.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital, and liquidity management.
Lead tax planning, audits, banking relationships, insurance programs, and regulatory compliance.
Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, lenders, and professional advisors.
Support debt management, banking negotiations, and capital investment decisions.
Evaluate strategic financing and growth-capital opportunities.
Develop financial insights and KPIs that enable leadership to make informed, data-driven business decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline required.
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior executive finance leadership role, such as CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent.
Significant experience within food manufacturing, CPG, fresh foods, produce, refrigerated foods, or a closely related industry.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, inventory management, supply chain operations, and margin analysis.
Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, treasury, cash flow management, and strategic planning.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Proven ability to partner with CEOs, executive leadership teams, Boards, and ownership groups.
Demonstrated success helping organizations scale, improve profitability, and navigate periods of significant growth.
Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to financial and operational leadership.
