Junior Buyer / Procurement Coordinator
Location: Wixom, MI (On-site Only)
Compensation: $50,000 – $58,000 (based on experience)
Reports To: Procurement Manager

Role Summary
This role supports daily purchasing operations for production by executing purchase orders, managing supplier follow-ups, and maintaining accurate system data. This role focuses on managing high volumes quickly, staying organized, and helping improve procurement processes and data accuracy. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with direct impact on production operations.
Primary Focus
This role is responsible for executing daily purchasing activities that directly support production, including order placement, supplier follow-up, and maintaining accurate system data.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Execution
Create and place purchase orders in ERP/inventory system
Execute daily buys based on production needs, inventory levels, and internal requests
Track open orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery
Supplier Communication
Follow up with vendors on order status, lead times, and shipments
Communicate delays or issues that may impact production
Stay on top of open orders, nothing falls through the cracks
Data & System Maintenance
Maintain accurate part, supplier, and pricing data
Identify and correct issues such as duplicate items, incorrect suppliers, or outdated pricing
Support ongoing cleanup and standardization of purchasing data
Cross-Functional Support
Work closely with Production, Inventory, Shipping/Receiving, and Accounting
Help resolve issues related to orders, shortages, and discrepancies
Follow up with vendors as needed to close gaps
Process Support
Follow established purchasing processes and workflows
Support the shift to more structured, PO-based purchasing
Contribute to improving organization and consistency over time
Required Qualifications
Associate degree or some college coursework
1–3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience working with ERP or inventory systems
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage follow-up and complete tasks consistently
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to BOMs or production-based environments
Experience with workflow or task management tools used to track internal requests
Core Competencies
High level of follow-through and accountability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with repetitive, high-volume transactional work
Process-oriented mindset
Positive, can-do attitude with willingness to learn and grow
Work Environment
Fully on-site role in Wixom, MI (no remote option)
