Job description

Amlaw 50 firm is seeking an attorney with 3 to 7 years of litigation experience to join their Litigation Department in our Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, or Tampa office as Special Counsel. This is a full-time, non-partner track position supporting our Construction Practice Group. Attorneys in these positions are responsible for a high volume of matters and must be confident in their autonomy. Many of the cases proceed in arbitration rather than in circuit court, so the positions require individuals who are self-motivated and stay focused in the office setting.

Their ideal candidate will have very strong legal research and writing skills and will have conducted discovery, drafted motions, argued one or more motions in court, have some deposition experience, and some trial experience. Experience in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance claims, construction and design defect claims, and related matters is strongly preferred. Proven track record in settling cases. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Prior experience managing a team of paralegals and support staff beneficial.

They are seeking well-rounded, highly motivated attorneys with top grades and excellent writing skills who are eager to learn and gain valuable experience while supporting the Construction practice group.

To be considered, candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and be in good standing and an active member of the Florida Bar.

Interested applicants should submit a resume, law school transcript, writing sample, and a cover letter noting office preference.

The expected salary for this position is $140,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

The firm offers a comprehensive benefit program which currently includes Medical, Dental and Vision insurance; 401(k) Retirement; Disability and Life insurance; Adoption Assistance; Backup Care for Dependents.

The firm is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer/Vet/Disabled.
