Cath Lab Special Procedure Technologist

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Radiologic Technologist with recent cardiac cath lab, EP, interventional cardiac, or vascular lab experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment. In this role, you’ll work directly alongside credentialed providers and multidisciplinary clinical teams, supporting diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. You’ll play an essential role in patient care, procedural safety, radiation safety, sterile technique, equipment operation, and real-time monitoring. What You’ll Do Serve as scrub, monitor/recorder, and X-ray technologist during cardiovascular laboratory procedures. Prepare and position patients for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. Support diagnostic and interventional procedures while maintaining a safe, sterile environment. Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic monitoring and specialized laboratory equipment. Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and promptly communicate findings to providers and team members. Support procedures involving IVUS, Site Rite, atherectomy devices, pacemakers/ICDs, coronary angiography, and interventions. Assist with arterial and venous access management, including sheath removal and hemostasis. Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct physician supervision. Perform and maintain proficiency in point-of-care testing, including ACT, oxygen saturation, glucose, and ABG testing. Perform BLS/ACLS interventions, including defibrillation, when required. Monitor radiation safety and maintain compliance documentation. Perform quality assurance activities for X-ray equipment and protective equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate vendor service when necessary. Retrieve and present images through PACS during procedures. Assist with radiation safety surveys and regulatory compliance activities. Educate patients regarding procedures and provide compassionate, customer-focused care. Maintain supplies, clean and organize work areas, and assist with patient transportation. Participate in an on-call rotation with a required 30-minute response time. Required Qualifications — What We’re Looking For These are key requirements for the role: At least 12 continuous months of cardiac cath lab, EP, and/or special procedures experience within the past 3 years. Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Current Radiologic Technologist certification/registration through ARRT. Appropriate Washington or Oregon Radiologic Technologist licensure, as applicable to the position. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the required timeframe. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within the required timeframe. Ability to obtain the applicable cardiovascular credential within 12 months of hire, such as: RCIS RCES ARRT-VI ARRT-CI Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. Ability to work independently and perform at a high level in a procedural environment. Ability to meet the 30-minute after-hours call-back requirement. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and patient-service skills. Commitment to continuing education and maintaining required professional credentials. Preferred Experience & Credentials Candidates with the following are strongly preferred: 2+ years of recent EP, interventional cardiac, and/or vascular laboratory experience. Recent angiography/cath lab experience. RCIS, RCES, ARRT-CI, or ARRT-VI credential. Experience with IVUS, Site Rite, atherectomy devices, pacemakers/ICDs, and coronary angiography/interventions. Strong EKG rhythm and dysrhythmia recognition skills. Experience with radiation safety and quality assurance. Familiarity with PACS and cardiovascular imaging. Excellent time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Adaptability and the ability to remain calm and effective during complex procedures. Why This Opportunity?
