Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Engineering, AI & Robotics to lead the next phase of product development across our software and hardware stack. This role is part of our core leadership team—guiding technical decisions, growing the engineering team, and aligning R&D with our product vision and mission.
This is an ideal opportunity for a senior technical leader ready to step into a strategic, hands-on role with meaningful equity and real-world impact.
Preferred candidates will have a deep personal or professional connection with autism, whether through family, caregiving, or advocacy. Your lived experience is a powerful asset.
Responsibilities
• Lead engineering direction across AI, mobile software, edge computing, and robotic integration
• Manage and grow a cross-functional tech team (AI, cloud, app, embedded systems)
• Architect the AI-powered intervention engine integrating LLMs with autism-specific logic
• Oversee mobile app deployment (iOS, Android) and integration with modular robotics
• Drive iterative product development from prototype to commercial release
• Ensure platform scalability, performance, and compliance (privacy, accessibility)
• Collaborate with clinical advisors, designers, and stakeholders to optimize user outcomes
• Represent tech strategy in investor, partner, and grant discussions
Desired Background
• 7–12+ years in technical leadership (Director, Lead Engineer, or VP Engineering level)
• Deep experience with AI (NLP, GenAI, LLMs) and robotic or IoT systems
• Proven ability to lead cross-platform development (cloud, mobile, hardware)
• Startup or early-stage scaling experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and people leadership skills
• Passion for inclusive tech and personal connection to neurodiverse communities is a plus
