Chief Technology Officer / Founding CTO — ApolloX Technologies

ApolloX Technologies is building a financial operating platform for Canadian mid-market companies managing recurring business activity between Canada and the United States.

We are entering the commercialization stage of the company. ApolloX’s core product and regulated financial infrastructure are built, Product V2 is live, Atlas — our AI financial intelligence layer — has recently been added, and we are onboarding our first customers while moving through our first production transactions.

We are now looking for a Chief Technology Officer / Founding CTO to take ownership of ApolloX’s technical organization as the company moves from founder-built product into a scalable financial platform.

This is not a role for someone looking to manage a large existing engineering department. It is for a highly technical leader who wants to join early, work hands-on, make foundational architectural decisions, and eventually build the engineering organization around them.

What you’ll own

• Technical strategy and architecture across the ApolloX platform

• Reliability, scalability and security of production financial systems

• Payments, FX and banking-infrastructure integrations

• Backend systems, APIs, data architecture and internal financial workflows

• Technical development of Atlas and ApolloX’s intelligence layer

• Engineering standards, testing, observability and incident response

• Evaluating and managing third-party financial infrastructure dependencies

• Recruiting and leading ApolloX’s future engineering team

• Working directly with the Founder & CEO on product strategy and company direction

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on software engineering background

• Experience building or operating production fintech, payments, banking, treasury or financial-infrastructure systems

• Strong backend and distributed-systems experience

• Experience with APIs, integrations and high-reliability systems

• Understanding of security, data integrity and the engineering standards required when real money is involved

• Ability to work comfortably in an early-stage environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration

• Leadership experience or clear ability to grow into leading an engineering organization

• Strong product judgment and the ability to translate business requirements into technical systems

Experience at companies in payments, banking, fintech infrastructure, treasury, financial software or adjacent industries is especially relevant.

What matters more than title history

You do not need to have been a CTO before.

We are very open to senior, staff, principal or engineering-management candidates who have strong fintech experience and are ready to take on broader technical ownership for the first time.

The ideal person is still close to the technology, enjoys building, can make sound architectural decisions, and wants to grow from hands-on technical leadership into leading a world-class engineering organization.
