About Space United

Space United is the world's first space-driven soccer club, founded by the Tobacia Brothers — Latino athletes turned space engineers from SpaceX and Blue Origin. Our mission is to connect billions of global sports fans to the future of space exploration and make it feel relevant, exciting, and within reach. Space United Academy is our youth program, blending competitive soccer training with hands-on space and STEM missions. Our first flagship Academy location — the Launchpad at E90 in Tukwila, WA — opens this fall.

The Role

You lead our youngest crews — U7 and U8 Academy teams taking their first steps in competitive soccer. At this age, your job is bigger than tactics: you make every kid fall in love with the game. You bring the energy that turns a Tuesday practice into the best hour of a 7-year-old's week, you build touches and confidence in equal measure, and on Sunday afternoons you're on the sideline coaching them through their first real matches. Everything happens under one roof at E90 — practices, games, and the Academy community around them.

What You'll Do

•    Train — Plan and run two team practices per week — age-appropriate, high-rep, high-fun sessions built around ball mastery, small-sided play, and confidence.

•    Compete — Coach your teams in Sunday afternoon matches in E90's Junior Development League — positive sideline, equal development focus, and a post-game word for every player.

•    Connect — Be the coach parents trust: clear communication on schedules and development, and a genuine relationship with every family.

•    Build the pathway — Work with the Academy Manager and coaching staff on player development, team formation, and the pathway from U7/U8 into our older age groups.

•    Carry the badge — Represent Space United on and off the pitch — our coaches are the most visible face of the club at E90.

Schedule & Time Commitment

Part-time, 15–20 hours per week:

•    Two team practices per week (weekday evenings; exact days to be finalized), all at E90 Indoor Soccer.

•    Sunday afternoon match days at E90.

•    Remaining hours cover session planning, parent communication, and Academy events — with additional paid hours available for camps and clinics.

What You Bring

•    Real experience working with children — youth coaching, teaching, camps, or similar — and the patience and warmth to match. This is non-negotiable.

•    High energy is the job. Kids this age mirror their coach — you set the tone of every session.

•    Playing or coaching experience at a strong level; international playing or coaching experience is preferred.

•    No coaching license required — but a license is preferred, and genuine interest in earning one is a real plus. We support the pathway.

•    Spanish or other languages spoken in the Tukwila community are a strong plus.

Compensation

$22–$28 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, with paid planning time, support toward coaching license courses, and a growth path into lead coaching roles as the Academy adds age groups.
