Responsiblities:

Title: RN Psych/Behavioural Health

Shift: Day Day Shift, 4 x 12s. no set days of the week. 0630 - 1900 & Night Shift, 4 x 12s. no set days of the week. 1830- 0700


  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and established standards of care.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, collect and analyze clinical data, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized plans of care.

  • Implement, coordinate, and evaluate nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

  • Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in clinical status, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions while communicating significant findings to the healthcare team.

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, procedures, discharge instructions, disease prevention, and health promotion.

  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care, safe patient transitions, and appropriate follow-up services.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant documentation of patient assessments, interventions, medications, care plans, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prioritize patient care based on acuity while utilizing critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and evidence-based decision-making in a fast-paced acute care environment.

  • Delegate nursing tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed personnel while supervising care delivery and ensuring compliance with nursing standards.

  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes and continuity of care.
