About Synvya

Synvya helps restaurants capture and convert demand from AI assistants without intermediaries.

Today, Synvya publishes restaurant identity, structured facts, and full menu and catalog data in AI readable formats so restaurants can show up accurately when diners use AI to decide where to eat. Next, Synvya expands from Discovery into Takeout and Reservations so diners can order and book directly inside AI assistants, routed into the restaurant’s existing systems.

Synvya’s core belief is simple: AI assistants are becoming a new customer acquisition channel, and restaurants need infrastructure built for that channel. Synvya is building that infrastructure around portability, direct restaurant customer relationships, and open ecosystems.

The role

Synvya is looking for a hands on CTO and technical co founder to lead product and engineering from the ground up.

This is a founder level role with meaningful equity. Please note that there is no salary until funding is secured. Expected salary compensation is $150,000 after angel funding and $200,000 after VC funding.

This is not a people manager only role. You will be the senior technical owner of the company: defining architecture, shipping core product, building reliability and security practices, and hiring the first engineering team.

You will work directly with the founder to turn Synvya from an early product into durable infrastructure for the AI channel in restaurants. Near term company hiring plans already center on bringing in a co founder and CTO plus additional engineers.

What you will own

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap
• Ship core product directly as an individual contributor
• Lead the evolution of Discovery and help bring Takeout and Reservations to market
• Build systems for canonical restaurant data, publishing, freshness, reliability, and action routing
• Make strong decisions on APIs, integrations, infrastructure, data models, and developer experience
• Set engineering standards for speed, quality, privacy, and security
• Hire and lead the first engineering team
• Partner closely with the founder on strategy, product, and fundraising

What Synvya has today

Synvya already has a live Discovery product with 3 design partners and an explicit roadmap beyond it.

• Discovery (available now): Restaurants publish profile and menu or catalog data distributed through Synvya pages and other AI readable surfaces.
• Takeout (coming soon): AI assistant initiated orders routed into restaurant systems.
• Reservations (coming soon): Policy based booking flow routed through Synvya infrastructure.

What success looks like in the first 12 months

• Strengthen and scale the Discovery product
• Improve the onboarding flow and core infrastructure reliability
• Launch Takeout with design partners
• Help support the company’s milestone toward 100+ paying Discovery locations
• Hire the first engineers and establish a strong engineering culture

Ideal background

You do not need to match every point below, but strong candidates will likely have several:

• Built and shipped products from zero to production
• Deep full stack or backend engineering ability
• Strong product instincts and startup speed
• Experience designing APIs, integrations, and scalable application infrastructure
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and high ownership
• Interest in AI products, structured data systems, developer platforms, or commerce infrastructure
• Ability to recruit, evaluate, and lead early engineers
• Founder mentality

Especially strong fit

• Built marketplaces, vertical SaaS, commerce systems, developer tools, or data infrastructure
• Worked on systems involving canonical data, synchronization, or multi system integrations
• Experience with restaurant, hospitality, local commerce, or SMB software
• Excited by open ecosystems, portability, and infrastructure that keeps customers in control
