Risk Consulting Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Consulting Specialist to support clients with annual and quarterly state reporting requirements related to Workers' Compensation Qualified Self-Insurance and monopolistic state fund compliance. This is a fully remote contract opportunity requiring exceptional attention to detail and experience managing compliance across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage annual and quarterly state filing schedules for multiple clients and entities.
• Collect payroll data, class codes, hours worked, loss information, financial statements, and other required documentation.
• Monitor deadlines and follow up with clients and third parties to ensure timely submissions.
• Complete and update filings through various state web portals.
• Guide clients through certification, submission, and payment processes.
• Maintain accurate records of filings, actuarial reports, payments, and supporting documentation.
• Assist clients with adding entities to state self-insurance programs.
• Review surety bond and security requirements and coordinate updates as needed.
• Submit actuarial reports and additional documentation requested by state agencies.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Experience managing annual and quarterly filings across multiple states.

• Background in one or more of the following:

  • Employer Risk Management
  • Human Resources
  • Payroll
  • Insurance Brokerage
  • Consulting Firm
  • State Department of Insurance or Labor

• Strong knowledge of Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance and state compliance requirements.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• Experience using state reporting portals is highly preferred.

• Strong communication and client management skills.
