Sterile Compounding Pharmacist

Location: Austin, TX

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to help establish and lead a new sterile compounding laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist with strong sterile compounding expertise to play a key role in developing workflows, quality systems, and regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality, customized medications.

Responsibilities

• Verify and approve sterile compounded prescriptions for accuracy and safety

• Supervise sterile compounding technicians and ensure USP <797> compliance

• Compound sterile preparations using aseptic technique

• Review formulations, calculations, compatibility, stability, and beyond-use dating

• Verify batch records and approve final product release

• Develop and maintain sterile compounding SOPs and quality documentation

• Oversee environmental monitoring and cleanroom quality programs

• Support process validation, equipment qualification, and regulatory readiness

• Provide clinical consultation to patients and prescribers

• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to improve workflows and maintain compliance

Qualifications

• Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing

• Sterile compounding experience with strong knowledge of USP <797>

• Experience compounding sterile medications from raw active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Schedule

• Full-time

• Monday-Friday

• Rotating Saturdays (half-days)
