Siemens Specialist Automation Senior Engineer

The Siemens Specialist Automation Senior Engineer is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimizing Siemens based industrial automation systems. This role provides technical expertise in Siemens PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, electrical controls, and machine automation while supporting startup, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

FUNCTIONS

STRATEGIC FUNCTIONS

• Provide technical leadership for Siemens automation systems.
• Support commissioning, startup, and implementation of automation projects.
• Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements.
• Maintain PLC/HMI documentation and software backups.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards.

OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

• Program Siemens PLCs using TIA Portal and STEP 7.
• Develop WinCC HMI applications.
• Troubleshoot S7-300/400/1200/1500 PLCs.
• Troubleshoot MCCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, relays, control panels and instrumentation.
• Read electrical schematics, control drawings and P&IDs.
• Configure PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Industrial Ethernet and Modbus.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and startup.
• Maintain PLC/HMI backups.
• Troubleshoot industrial safety systems (Safety Relays, E-Stops, Interlocks etc).
