Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of public and private projects, including parks and greenspace, campuses and universities, stormwater, utility, and transportation infrastructure. This individual will contribute through all project phases, from early design concepts through construction administration, while collaborating with architects, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee civil engineering design work involving site design, grading and drainage, roads and pavement, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion and sediment control.

• Prepare and review conceptual layouts, construction drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, SWPPPs, stormwater calculations, and water/sewer designs.

• Produce high-quality work within established budgets and project timelines.

• Collaborate with project managers and senior staff on project status, schedules, design decisions, and construction-related issues.

• Coordinate, delegate, review, and mentor junior design staff.

• Maintain effective working relationships with team members, public agency representatives, contractors, and clients.

• Conduct or coordinate construction administration and periodic site visits to monitor work quality and progress.

• Support stormwater and utility design efforts, including stormwater management practices, conveyance systems, SWPPPs, and water/sewer infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.

• 10+ years of relevant civil engineering experience.

• New York State PE or EIT preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.

• Experience with HydroCAD or comparable stormwater modeling software preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
