Graphic Designer

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer & Laser Engraving Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and preparing files specifically for Diode and Infrared (IR) laser engraving systems, with a strong understanding of material interactions across glassware, stainless steel, and bamboo.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Vector Artwork Creation: Create, modify, and optimize vector graphics, logos, typography, and intricate patterns tailored for laser engraving.

• Laser File Preparation: Convert graphics into production-ready laser files, ensuring correct contrast, line weights, resolution, dithering settings, and color mapping.

• Material-Specific Parameter Setup: Set up, test, and fine-tune laser power, speed, frequency, and pass settings for:

• Glassware: Managing rotary attachments, avoiding thermal shock/chipping, and utilizing spray coatings/marking compounds when appropriate.

• Stainless Steel: Achieving high-contrast, permanent marks using IR/Fiber laser settings without damaging material surfaces.

• Bamboo & Wood: Optimizing diode burn depth, controlling edge charring, and handling natural grain variations.

• Quality Control & Testing: Run test grids, audit physical samples for alignment, sharpness, and depth, and adjust parameters to maintain consistent output across production runs.

• Equipment Maintenance & Workflow: Perform basic cleaning, optical checks, and alignment maintenance for Diode and IR laser units; organize digital asset libraries.

Required Qualifications

• Design Software Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, LightBurn, or equivalent vector editing software.
• Laser Hardware Knowledge: Proven experience operating and configuring Diode (typically 450nm) and IR/Fiber (1064nm) lasers.
• Rotary Attachment Experience: Hands-on experience using rotary devices (chuck or roller) to engrave cylindrical items such as tumblers, glassware, and mugs.
• Material Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of how light wavelengths interact with organic materials (bamboo), coated/uncoated metals (stainless steel), and transparent surfaces (glass).
• Attention to Detail: Strong eye for spatial alignment, typography, visual hierarchy, and precise measurements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in custom merchandise, personalized gifting, print shops, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with applying laser marking materials (e.g., Cermark, LMM) for stainless steel or glass processing.
• Portfolio of physical engraved product samples demonstrating clean results across glass, metal, and wood.
