I— ABOUT THE COMPANY
Silpa Recruiting, the staffing division of Silpa Companies, LLC, is partnering with a well-funded AI-native cybersecurity platform company on this Senior Software Engineer search. Our client is led by a team of experienced repeat founders with deep cybersecurity-industry backgrounds, and has earned the trust of Fortune 500 enterprises with an agentic platform that replaces fragmented, human-limited security workflows with AI systems that continuously contextualize, assess, reason, and execute security work in production. The leadership team across AI, engineering, and product brings deep experience from leading technology companies, the team leverages modern AI technologies including Large Language Models and Generative AI in production, and cybersecurity domain knowledge is a plus but not a requirement — the bar that matters most is top-tier talent in microservices architecture, software development, and DevOps with a passion for solving complex problems. Our client is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a workforce that reflects a diversity of experience and perspective; all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristic. Silpa Companies is a national IT consulting and staffing firm empowering organizations across multiple industries through AI adoption, Master Data Management, Data and Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps/GitOps, Fractional C-Suite leadership, Digital Transformation, and M&A advisory for private equity and software ventures. Our staffing practice connects top technical talent with the venture-backed, growth-stage, and enterprise organizations that need them.
II— ABOUT THE ROLERole description.
Our client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to be at the forefront of developing microservices using Golang within a cloud-based architecture. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable systems that enhance platform operations and customer-facing capabilities, requiring deep technical expertise, a passion for solving complex problems, and a proactive attitude. You will be expected to operate as a senior individual contributor across the Golang microservices surfaces, partner with cross-functional teams on system efficiency and feature integration, and lead the adoption of code-quality, security, and maintainability best practices on the engineering team. The role reports into engineering leadership. Success in this role typically looks like: within the first 3 to 6 months, you have shipped meaningful Golang functionality across one or more services and are delivering at the production-quality bar enterprise security customers expect; within the first 12 months, you are recognized as a senior IC who teammates pull into design discussions, you own one or more services end-to-end, and you partner with the platform team on cross-cutting initiatives that span the broader engineering organization.
III— RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop robust microservices using Golang at production scale across the agentic-AI security platform.
Deploy and maintain scalable systems on Azure including the partnership with the platform-engineering function on the published cloud-native operating model.
Automate CI/CD workflows and ensure high availability, resilience, and graceful-degradation behavior of applications under enterprise-customer load.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, AI, Engineering, Customer Success) to enhance system efficiency and integrate new features.
Lead the adoption of best-in-class code-quality, security, and maintainability practices including code-review craft, test-coverage discipline, and the published engineering style guide.
Build and maintain robust REST and gRPC API surfaces that the platform's internal services and external integrations depend on.
Partner with the data-engineering function on the data-pipeline-and-storage practice including the integration with modern relational and NoSQL databases.
Help shape responsible adoption of AI-assisted developer tooling on the engineering team including LLM-based code-generation, AI-assisted code-review tooling, and the engineering-judgment practice that surrounds them.
Contribute to Architecture Decision Records, design documents, and runbooks on the Golang-microservices surfaces you own.
Author and maintain the partnership with the platform-engineering function on the published Kubernetes-and-Docker delivery practice.
Mentor incoming software engineers on the Golang microservices practice, the Azure operating model, and the published engineering conventions.
IV— REQUIREMENTS
8 or more years of professional experience as a Software Developer with substantial hands-on expertise in Golang.
Hands-on experience as an engineer at a venture-backed or growth-stage startup; this is a hard requirement, not a preference.
Proven production experience designing and developing microservices architectures at meaningful scale.
Hands-on experience with Data Engineering and the partnership with data-pipeline and storage systems at production scale.
Strong production background in cloud technologies, preferably Azure (AWS or GCP equivalent acceptable for senior candidates with willingness to ramp on Azure).
Hands-on production experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized workloads.
Hands-on production experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or comparable.
Working knowledge of REST APIs, gRPC, and modern relational and NoSQL database technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
V— ELIGIBILITY
Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Willing and able to work in the client's North San Jose, CA office five days per week.
Successful completion of background check.
Ability to travel 1 to 3 times per year for company offsites and major industry events.
VI— WHY JOIN
You will join a well-funded AI-native cybersecurity platform company at a stage where the engineering decisions you make have direct, durable impact on the platform that Fortune 500 security teams already trust. The capital position is strong, the founding team has deep category experience, the engineering and AI leadership is drawn from leading technology companies, and the team leverages modern AI technologies including LLMs and Generative AI in production. Cybersecurity domain knowledge is a plus but not a requirement — the bar that matters most is top-tier talent in microservices architecture, software development, and DevOps. The engineering culture rests on four pillars our client has been deliberate about: ownership and leadership (engineers make decisions and own outcomes), mentorship and growth (learn from category-experienced operators and work at the frontier of AI and cybersecurity), collaboration and inclusion (diverse perspectives that challenge the status quo and fuel innovation), and impact mindset (every line of code contributes to shaping the future of enterprise security). The hiring process is structured and respectful of your time: an initial conversation with the Silpa recruiting partner to align on background and motivations, an interview with engineering leadership to discuss role context and prior work, a technical interview focused on Golang depth and microservices design, and a final loop of 3 to 4 interviews covering coding, system design, and team fit, followed by reference checks and offer. Compensation is materially equity-and-bonus weighted with highly competitive base salaries, meaningful equity options, and the kind of upside profile that draws senior engineers in the Bay Area cybersecurity-and-AI market.
VII— BENEFITS
Highly competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and meaningful early-stage-style equity participation
Full medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple plan options
401(k) plan
Generous PTO accrual plus paid holidays and parental leave
Annual learning, development, and conference budget plus paid attendance at GopherCon, KubeCon, RSAC, Black Hat, or comparable
