Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities to oversee Plant Operations, Maintenance, Environmental Services (EVS), and Grounds for a healthcare organization in Alamosa, Colorado.

The Director will lead approximately 45 FTEs and oversee facility operations, preventive maintenance, utility systems, contractors, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Plant Operations, Maintenance and EVS teams

• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers and building systems

• Ensure continuous operation of critical hospital utilities

• Manage preventive maintenance programs

• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and applicable codes

• Manage contractors and construction-related activities

• Develop staff expectations and training plans

• Partner with hospital departments to address facility needs

• Ensure safe, efficient and compliant facility operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred

• 5+ years of personnel management experience

• Acute care hospital facility experience required

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers and general building maintenance

• Knowledge of life safety codes, bio-waste, autoclaving, construction phasing and EVS operations

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
