Software Engineer

We are looking for a curious, driven Software Engineer to join our product engineering team.
You will work across the full stack to build and scale the core features of the cofi.ai platform — from data ingestion pipelines and metrics engines to interactive dashboards and AI-powered analytics.
This is a high-impact role at a startup where great engineers have direct influence on product direction. You will work closely with the CTO, product team, and customers to ship software that matters.
What You'll Do
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack features across the cofi.ai platform
• Build and optimize data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and transform financial and operational data from diverse sources
• Contribute to our metrics engine and visualization layer, enabling real-time portfolio intelligence
• Collaborate with the product and design teams to translate complex finance requirements into clean, intuitive user experiences
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in peer code reviews
• Apply data science and ML techniques to support forecasting, anomaly detection, and AI-driven insights
• Help define engineering standards and best practices as an early team member
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for both backend and frontend development
• Experience with data-heavy applications — ETL pipelines, data modeling, SQL, or similar
• Comfort working across the full stack and shipping end-to-end features
• Strong analytical mindset — you think in systems and love getting to the bottom of a hard problem
• Self-directed learner who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment
Nice-to-Have
• Background or strong interest in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI (e.g., MSc in Data Science or equivalent experience)
• Experience with aerospace, scientific computing, or other quantitative engineering domains
• Familiarity with financial concepts: FP&A, KPIs, financial reporting, or portfolio management
• Contributions to or interest in open source projects
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Prior experience at an early-stage SaaS startup
