What we're looking for?
We're seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 0–5 years of post-bar experience to join MVP Law — the Midwest's #1 workers' comp defense firm. You should be a genuine, curious, people-first attorney who can hold a conversation, build real client relationships, and manage a defense caseload with growing independence. Bonus points if you have insurance defense or plaintiff-side workers' comp experience, though we're equally excited to train sharp new grads who are open to learning.
What you'll do:
Manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with increasing independence, handling matters for large corporations, government entities, educational institutions, and insurance carriers
Conduct depositions, mediations, and try cases before administrative tribunals and courts
Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients — carriers, employers, and government entities — serving as their trusted outside counsel
Work closely with your paralegal and legal secretary team to efficiently move cases forward and maximize billable output
Participate in firm marketing, community involvement, and business development activities
Leverage the firm's technology-forward, paperless practice systems to manage caseload effectively and hit your personalized billables goal
Grow toward partnership track in a firm where current owners started as associates — with real trial work, real clients, and no BigLaw doc-review treadmill
Compensation: $100,000–$130,000 base salary + uncapped quarterly production bonus (5–10% of billables over baseline; recent payouts range from $1,500 to $20,000/quarter). Bar fees, prep materials (BarBri Advanced), and exam hotel costs covered. Relocation assistance negotiable.
