About the Opportunity
We are seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to deliver production-ready solutions for healthcare AI customers. This role combines software development, data engineering, and direct customer collaboration, with ownership from initial discovery and scoping through deployment and delivery.
You will work closely with healthcare organizations to understand complex data challenges, translate evolving requirements into technical solutions, and build integrations that support real-world AI applications. You will also help turn successful customer implementations into scalable, reusable platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities

• Own customer engagements from technical discovery and project scoping through implementation and production delivery.
• Design and build large-scale batch pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data, including electronic health records, claims, imaging, and genomics.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams and data partners to define requirements, resolve integration challenges, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Develop custom software and integrations to address gaps in existing platform capabilities.
• Apply strong SQL, ETL, and data engineering skills to complex processing and transformation workflows.
• Identify repeatable patterns across engagements and contribute to reusable platform features.
• Adapt to changing customer requirements while maintaining clear communication and accountability for delivery.
  Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines at scale.
• Experience with batch processing of large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL development.
• Customer-facing technical experience, including translating ambiguous business needs into production solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to own technical projects end to end.
• Broad software engineering capabilities, with particular depth in data engineering.
• Working understanding of AI/ML training workflows.
• Ability to work independently, communicate technical tradeoffs, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, founding engineer, early startup engineer, or in a similarly high-ownership technical role.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, HL7/FHIR standards, and PHI/HIPAA requirements.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience building REST API integrations and working with external data partners.
• Background in venture-backed companies, high-growth startups, healthcare technology, or data-intensive environments.
  Working Environment
  This position is well suited to engineers who enjoy working directly with customers, solving problems without complete specifications, and delivering across multiple engagements. The role requires flexibility around critical customer deadlines, including occasional evening or weekend work.
  Compensation and Opportunity
