Job description

Job Brief: Field Superintendent supports successful project delivery by overseeing daily field operations and ensuring construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and to quality expectations. This role works closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and resources across residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily job site activities, acting as the primary on-site leader in support of the Project Superintendent.

  • Direct field crews and subcontractors, ensuring productive work flow and craftsmanship that meets project specifications and standards.

  • Enforce job site safety practices and OSHA compliance; conduct safety briefings and address hazards promptly.

  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to implement project plans, schedules, and objectives.

  • Monitor work quality throughout construction phases, perform inspections, and resolve issues to uphold company standards.

  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment use, manpower allocation, and sequencing of work to maintain schedule progress.

  • Generate and maintain daily reports/logs, record progress and challenges, and communicate updates to leadership.

  • Identify on-site issues (technical, operational, interpersonal) and work with leadership to implement timely, effective solutions.

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and inspectors when appropriate, representing the company professionally.

Requirements:

  • Typically 3+ years in construction with on-site leadership experience (Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar role).

  • Comfortable reading blueprints and understanding specifications, construction methods, and sequencing.

  • OSHA and First Aid certifications preferred or required.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and team coordination skills.

  • Able to think critically and troubleshoot issues on the job site.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and job-site equipment operation is advantageous.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
