Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic II
Location: Clackamas, OR
Job Type: Contract with Potential Temp-to-Permanent Opportunity
Pay Rate: Up to $36.97/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift / Graveyard
Schedule: 10:00 PM–6:30 AM, 5 days per week
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic II to support maintenance operations at a dairy production facility in Clackamas, Oregon.
The Maintenance Mechanic II will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment throughout the plant. This position will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete repairs, and help maintain production equipment for maximum efficiency.
This is initially a contract position with the possibility of extension and conversion to full-time employment. Candidates who convert to full-time employment will be required to join the onsite union.
Schedule
Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules.
Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety requirements.
Diagnose complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic problems involving equipment such as:
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair methods using blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and technical documentation.
Dismantle and reassemble machines to repair or replace components.
Perform routine maintenance and identify when additional maintenance is required.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete required maintenance reports.
Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment.
Maintain plant equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Investigate equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurring problems.
Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment failures.
Perform equipment rebuilding and fabrication.
Perform welding on mild and stainless steel.
Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
Work with vendors and contractors when required.
Ensure necessary spare parts and services are ordered.
Maintain organization of spare parts and maintenance areas.
Support operational improvements related to spoilage, downtime, line speeds, and production efficiency.
Train other employees to safely and efficiently operate equipment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow company safety policies, GMP, and Global Food Safety practices.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair.
Knowledge of fabrication and machine shop tools.
Experience with hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
Ability to read and follow:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Strong safety awareness and ability to follow established safety procedures.
Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Compensation
Up to $36.97/hour
Candidates must meet the required qualifications to be considered for the maximum hourly rate.
