Our direct client is seeking a highly experienced Mainframe DBB Expert to support enterprise Mainframe Modernization & DevOps Transformation initiatives. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB), Git-based development, and CI/CD automation within IBM z/OS environments.

Primary Skill:

✅ IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB)

Required Skills:

✔️ 7+ years of IBM Mainframe application development and modernization experience

✔️ Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, z/OS, TSO/ISPF, and USS

✔️ Hands-on experience with IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB)

✔️ Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket

✔️ Strong knowledge of Mainframe DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies

✔️ Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools

✔️ Strong scripting skills in Groovy, Python, REXX, or Shell

✔️ Experience with Endevor, Changeman, or other Mainframe SCM tools

✔️ Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, Zowe, IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz), and z/OS Connect

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Design and maintain automated build solutions using IBM DBB

✅ Implement Git-based development workflows for Mainframe applications

✅ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps

✅ Automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes

✅ Integrate DBB with Git repositories and enterprise DevOps toolchains

✅ Support Endevor/Changeman to Git migration initiatives

✅ Troubleshoot build, deployment, and pipeline issues across development and test environments

✅ Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to modernize Mainframe engineering practices

Preferred Skills:

⭐ UrbanCode Deploy (UCD)

⭐ Endevor-to-Git migration experience

⭐ Zowe CLI, VS Code for Z, IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz)

⭐ Mainframe DevOps, GitOps, and CI/CD best practices

⭐ Experience with large-scale Mainframe Modernization programs
