We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Grant Writer to help expand our funding and increase our charitable reach. In this commission-based role, you will operate as an independent contractor responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with our mission and strategic goals.
Draft clear, compelling, and well-researched grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
Manage the full grant lifecycle from initial research to submission and follow-up reporting.
Collaborate with our leadership team to gather necessary data and financial information for applications.
Maintain an organized calendar of grant deadlines and submission statuses.
Qualifications
Proven track record of successfully securing grant funding for nonprofit organizations.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to tell a compelling story.
Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple deadlines independently.
Familiarity with the Kalamazoo County philanthropic landscape is a strong plus.
Access to your own grant research tools and workspace as an independent contractor.
Compensation
This is an independent contractor (1099) position with a 100% performance-based compensation structure. You will earn a percentage of all grant funds successfully awarded to the organization as a direct result of your work.
