Job description

The Community Leader is DEION’s local connection to the communities we serve. This role focuses on discovering diverse and independent businesses, building genuine relationships with business owners, introducing them to DEION, and helping strengthen DEION’s presence within the local community.
Community Leaders spend much of their time out in the community—visiting businesses, attending local events, meeting entrepreneurs and community organizations, and identifying businesses and experiences that should be represented on DEION. They also help tell the stories behind local businesses through interviews and content that can be shared across DEION and social media.
This is not a traditional sales role. Community Leaders are expected to be approachable, curious, resourceful, and comfortable starting conversations with new people. The goal is to become a trusted local resource while helping more people discover and support the businesses that make their communities unique.
Community Leaders are independent contractors and receive $25 for each business successfully onboarded through the signup and interview process, with the opportunity to earn profit sharing of up to 33% from businesses they manage.

DEION

E-commerce·1-10 employees

DEION is a values-based discovery and commerce platform that helps people find, support, and shop with diverse-owned and community-focused businesses. Through our interactive map, marketplace, local events, and business profiles, DEION connects consumers with restaurants, retailers, service providers, brands, creators, and entrepreneurs that reflect the communities and values they care about. For businesses, DEION provides tools to increase visibility, reach new customers, sell products, promote events and offers, and build stronger connections within their communities. Our goal is to make supporting diverse and independent businesses easier—not as a one-time initiative, but as part of how people discover where to eat, shop, visit, and spend every day.
