💰 Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 + Equity

Are you excited about building the People function from the ground up? We're looking for a Founding HR Generalist / People Operations professional to establish and scale HR operations at a fast-growing, venture-backed AI startup.

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with leadership and shape the employee experience as the company grows.

What You'll Do

🔹 Own the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding
🔹 Administer and manage the HRIS (Rippling)
🔹 Ensure compliance with California employment laws
🔹 Manage employee relations, transitions, and terminations
🔹 Oversee benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
🔹 Partner with Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing
🔹 Build structured onboarding and performance management programs
🔹 Develop scalable HR policies, processes, and People Operations best practices

Required Qualifications

✅ 4–8 years of HR Generalist / People Operations experience
✅ Experience as the first or founding HR hire at a venture-backed technology startup ($10M+ funding)
✅ Proven experience building HR infrastructure and processes from 0→1
✅ Hands-on experience with Rippling (or Workday/Gusto)
✅ Strong knowledge of California employment law
✅ Payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration experience
✅ Bachelor's degree required

⭐ Experience building scalable People Operations from scratch
⭐ Based in the San Francisco Bay Area
⭐ Able to work on-site 5 days per week
⭐ Existing U.S. work authorization
