Position Summary

The Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the accounting and finance functions for one or more manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include month-end close activities, cost accounting, account reconciliations, payroll processing, accounts payable, and financial reporting support. This newly created position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth due to the company’s continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the monthly close process for one to two manufacturing facilities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Review and record inventory transactions, analyze variances, and communicate findings to management.

Process weekly payroll through a third-party payroll provider (e.g., Paychex, ADP, or similar platforms).

Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, three-way matching, approval workflows, and weekly payment runs.

Enter approved vendor invoices into the ERP system and maintain accurate records.

Assist with year-end close activities and support external audit requirements.

Perform general accounting functions, including account reconciliations, cash application, pricing updates, and journal entries.

Collaborate with the Accounting Manager on special projects, process improvements, and other finance initiatives.

Provide accounting support for additional manufacturing locations as needed.

Qualifications

Required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

0–4+ years of accounting experience.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups, and report formatting.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused mindset.

Preferred

Experience with ERP systems and general ledger accounting.

Payroll processing experience using systems such as Paychex, ADP, or similar.

Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience.

Experience with inventory accounting and variance analysis.

Working Conditions

Full-time, on-site position.

Minimal travel required.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds for handling files, records, or materials.

Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
