Staff Accountant

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Staff Accountant:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
2. 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
3. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ad-hoc reports, and accounting software (such as Epicor or similar ERP systems).
5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Eagerness to learn and grow in a corporate finance environment.
9. Exposure to ERP systems or advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
10. Familiarity with financial analysis.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Assist with preparation and posting of journal entries to the general ledger
• Support month end and year end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, receivables, accruals, and intercompany accounts
• Maintain and update accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with preparation and organization of documentation for external audits
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP standards
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Support financial reporting and ad hoc reporting as needed

Requirements of the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 to 3 years of accounting or finance experience
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• High attention to detail with strong organization and time management skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or similar accounting software
• Familiarity with advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
• Exposure to financial analysis or reporting
