Job description

Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript/React) | Seed-Stage Sports Sponsorship Marketplace

New York, NY | In office Monday through Friday | $100K-$200K base + meaningful equity

Most sports and live event sponsorships are still sold through cold emails, spreadsheets, and one-off negotiations. Our client, a venture-backed seed-stage startup, is building the marketplace that changes that. Brands use it to find, evaluate, and buy sponsorships, and thousands of properties use it to list and sell their inventory. Their clients include major national brands and professional teams, leagues, venues, and entertainment properties.

The role

You’ll build infrastructure for a market that has never had any: search across properties and sponsorship assets, a deal engine for proposals, contracts, and payments, and measurement for media that has never been measured well. The team is small, so you won’t be boxed into one corner of the codebase. You’ll work directly with the Head of Engineering and the founders, and your code ships to real users right away.

What you’ll do

  • Ship features across the full stack: frontend, backend, APIs, and data layer

  • Own features end to end, from data model and design through deployment and the metrics that show they worked

  • Build search, matching, personalization, and AI-powered recommendations

  • Model sponsorship data: properties, assets, packages, pricing, and audiences

  • Build deal infrastructure: proposals, contracts, payments, and payouts

  • Help build the measurement product that shows brands what a sponsorship delivered

  • Use AI to move faster, both in how you build and in what ships (LLM-powered listing ingestion, matching, and recommendations)

  • Partner with designers to turn prototypes into polished production software

  • Contribute to architecture decisions alongside the founders

Tech stack

TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Postgres, Prisma, Vercel, Git/GitHub

What they’re looking for

  • Extensive TypeScript and React experience (server-side knowledge matters)

  • A product mindset: you care why something is being built, not just how

  • Strong attention to detail and good UI/UX instincts

  • Daily use of AI coding tools, and real leverage from them

  • Something you built on your own: a side project, startup, or open source library

  • High agency: when there’s no playbook, you write one

  • No years-of-experience or pedigree requirement. New grads and senior engineers are both welcome.

Nice to have

  • Node.js and backend experience, Postgres, data modeling

  • Experience with marketplaces, payments, or search

  • Early-stage startup experience wearing multiple hats

  • Passion for sports, live events, or entertainment

Culture and perks

  • Fast-paced, high-ownership, small team with ambitious goals

  • Customer obsessed: listen closely, iterate quickly, deliver exceptional service

  • Original thinking and respectful disagreement are encouraged

  • Backed by established sports tech and venture investors

  • Meaningful early-stage equity

  • Travel and entertainment budget for industry events and customer meetings

  • Lunch provided

  • Personalized perks: instead of a fixed benefits menu, they work with you on what matters, whether that’s a gym membership, an education budget, great dinners, or a standout vacation

This is a demanding role on hard problems, best for people who want to be pushed and who turn ambiguity into progress. Weekend work, when needed, is done remotely.
