**About the company**

A profitable, Series A-funded fintech startup building global payments infrastructure for the future of work, moving billions of dollars a year to over a million payees. Revenue has grown substantially over the past year, and the company is backed by top-tier investors including participation from Y Combinator. The team is small, ambitious, and building at genuine scale.

**The role**

You'll design and build scalable, production-ready systems that move real money at high throughput, working with large volumes of data and helping shape the technical direction of the company as it scales. This is a high-autonomy seat: you're expected to take risks, iterate quickly, and have a real say in decisions rather than simply executing someone else's roadmap. The company is looking for people who set a high bar themselves and aren't easily impressed by work that's merely good enough.

**What you'll do**

- Design and build scalable, production-ready backend systems that handle real financial transactions at high throughput

- Work with large amounts of data, building systems that stay reliable and fast as usage grows

- Launch and iterate on major software projects, owning outcomes rather than just shipping features

- Move fast and build systems that may be intentionally scrappy where speed matters more than polish

- Help shape technical direction and architecture decisions as the company scales

**What you must bring**

- 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable, production-ready systems

- Comfort moving fast and building systems that may be scrappy rather than fully polished

- Real experience working with large amounts of data and designing scalable backend systems for high throughput

- A track record of launching and iterating on apps or large software projects

- Willingness to work in-person in San Francisco or New York City

**Nice to have**

- FinTech or finance industry experience

- Experience at a traditional finance company (Bloomberg, JP Morgan, or similar)

- Infrastructure experience with AWS and Kubernetes

- Experience working with Python and React at scale

- 3–4 years of experience at a company around Seed to Series A stage

**Compensation & logistics**

- $200K–$280K base salary plus 0.4%–0.8% equity
