Assistant Nurse Manager, OR

This role is ideal for an RN leader who combines hands-on patient-care experience with strong operational, people-management, and problem-solving skills. You will supervise daily activities, coordinate resources, support multidisciplinary teams, monitor performance, and help ensure care delivery meets clinical, quality, regulatory, and financial standards. What You'll Do: Lead and Develop TeamsCoach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members to improve performance and support career development. Promote accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement, monitor team performance Supervise and coordinate daily activities within assigned hospital departments or units. Develop work plans and coordinate resources to meet operational priorities and deadlines. Identify barriers to performance and recommend process improvements. Supervise multidisciplinary teams and promote accountability for clinical and operational results. Ensure staff understand emergency procedures and are prepared to respond appropriately. Support nursing services and patient-care delivery in alignment with quality, safety, utilization, and cost objectives. Monitor quality and patient-safety performance and help implement corrective actions. Support compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission (TJC), and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Support survey readiness, mock rounds, audits, and regulatory documentation; support emergency preparedness Partner with clinical and operational leaders on workplace safety, labor relations, quality, and risk-management matters. Monitor performance metrics and use data to identify opportunities for improvement. Help implement technology and operational process improvements. Requirements:Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required at hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire. At least 2 years of patient-care delivery experience. At least 1 year of leadership experience, with or without direct reports.: Associate degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or a directly related field, plus at least 2 years of business operations, clinical healthcare, or related experience; OR at least 3 years of business operations, clinical healthcare, or directly related experience. Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 hospital environment. Help oversee care delivery operations in a 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week environment. Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and quality. Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, administrators, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Willingness to travel approximately 5% as required.
