Salary: $62,000 – 65,000 plus Bonus

Position Overview:

Fear Free is seeking a motivated and growth focused Market Development Specialist to support the expansion of our global presence through direct business activities and our international affiliate program. This role works closely with the Director of Growth and leadership team to help execute international initiatives, build strong affiliate relationships, and support ongoing market development efforts.

The Market Development Specialist - International owns key aspects of the international affiliate program, including affiliate onboarding, coordination, communication, and performance support. Serving as a primary point of contact for assigned international affiliates, this role helps ensure affiliates have the resources, guidance, and information needed to effectively represent Fear Free in their markets. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys relationship management, cross cultural collaboration, and hands on execution while contributing to international growth and revenue objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

International Sales Development & Strategic Growth

Drive international revenue growth by supporting direct sales and affiliate channels, contributing to pipeline expansion and performance against growth targets.

Partner with leadership to identify, develop, and expand international affiliate and corporate group opportunities through strategic planning, relationship mapping, and targeted outreach.

Track and analyze international revenue trends, opportunities, and performance metrics to inform decision making and growth strategies.

Engage and nurture leads through trade shows, inbound inquiries, and coordinated campaigns, delivering virtual and in person presentations to increase engagement, registrations, and retention.

Recruitment & Onboarding Support

Own the identification, recruitment, and onboarding of international affiliates in priority markets, in collaboration with Growth and leadership teams.

Assist with outreach efforts and coordination activities that help expand Fear Free’s global presence.

Identify and engage prospective international affiliates and corporate groups that align with Fear Free’s mission and audience.

Own the onboarding process by coordinating training resources, marketing assets, and system access in partnership with internal teams.

Affiliate Management & Communication

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned international affiliates, managing day to day communication, inquiries, and program updates while providing responsive ongoing support.

Build and maintain strong, collaborative affiliate relationships through regular check ins, performance reviews, and proactive follow up.

Compile and review affiliate performance data, preparing summaries and insights to support reviews and next-step actions.

Coordinate communication between international affiliates and internal teams including marketing, member services, facility success, education, and legal to ensure alignment and execution.

Performance Optimization

Monitor and analyze affiliate activity and performance metrics, including engagement, renewals, participation, and KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges, and report insights regularly to leadership.

Develop and execute affiliate initiatives such as promotions, campaigns, and incentive programs in alignment with Growth leadership priorities and strategic goals.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve affiliate effectiveness through coordinated campaigns, shared resources, and targeted communication.

Marketing & Business Development

Assist with updating and localizing marketing materials and promotional content for international markets.

Provide market insights, competitive observations, and feedback from affiliates to support business development and planning.

Collaborate with Marketing to align affiliate efforts with broader global marketing initiatives.

Assist in adapting and distributing marketing and educational materials for international affiliates, ensuring alignment with Fear Free brand standards and regional requirements.

Cross Functional Collaboration

Accurately input and manage data in Salesforce and other tools, maintaining detailed records of interactions, opportunities, and progress.

Collaborate cross functionally with Education, Marketing, Member Experience, Facility Success, and other internal teams to deliver a seamless and coordinated client experience.

Oversee client related projects, including webinars and events, ensuring timely, professional execution and that all materials are culturally appropriate and legally compliant in each region.

Business Intelligence: Prepare and present detailed reports, business cases, and presentations on market research and analysis, opportunities, and progress to inform strategy.

Other Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned in support of growth, sales support, and affiliate success initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Economics, or a related field, or 5 years of experience in a similar field.

Experience: 5 years of experience in affiliate marketing, business development, or a similar role, with a focus on international markets.

Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build and maintain trust and rapport with partners from diverse backgrounds.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and a foundational understanding of the nuances of doing business in different countries. Sensitivity and respect for different working styles and decision-making processes.

Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different cultures.

Negotiation and Persuasion Skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts, pricing, payment terms, affiliate commission structures, and sales agreements that are mutually beneficial.

Adaptability and Resilience: The ability to work effectively across different time zones, adapt to unpredictable schedules, and handle travel as required. Flexibility in adapting sales strategies to local market conditions and business environments.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Efficiency: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.

High Speed Internet: Must have a stable, high-speed internet connection capable of supporting video conferencing and cloud-based tools.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

● Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, Mandarin).

● Experience in animal health and/or nutrition.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To:

· Remain in a stationary position for an extended period while operating a computer.

· Position themselves to install tech equipment, including under desks.

· Move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

· Participate in virtual and/or in-person meetings.

· Travel by car and /or airplane

Travel:

Up to 25%, including trade shows, events, or in-person client meetings, both domestic and internationally.
