Job description

The Director of Product (Head of Product) is the primary product leader within the organization, playing a critical role in driving the strategic vision, long-term roadmap, and commercial success of our B2B SaaS platform. This leader will bridge business vision with engineering execution, moving our R&D culture away from reactive intake and into a proactive, product-led operating model.

This role is not about designing theoretical frameworks; it is about activating, running, and measuring a structured product delivery system that turns strategy into predictable output. As a hands-on player-coach, you will directly manage a small PM team, manage "up and across" to bring complete transparency to product decisions, optimize post-release adoption, and align stakeholder expectations across Sales, Client Success, Marketing, and Engineering. You will own product investment justification by enforcing capacity math, defining clear KPIs/OKRs, and connecting feature releases directly to revenue impact and ROI. A successful Director of Product at Ethico combines deep SaaS product management expertise with sharp business insight, unyielding say-do reliability, and the ability to both build high-level strategy and "roll up your sleeves" to execute alongside the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operating System Activation & Delivery: Activate, enforce, and continuously improve our Product Delivery System (PDS). Run key ceremonies (Strategic Product Council, Commitment Council, Office Hours) on rails, ensuring commitments hold, delivery becomes predictable, and refinement is treated as a core allocation.

  • Capacity-Gated Roadmap & Strategy: Own, evolve, and execute a multi-quarter B2B SaaS roadmap in direct alignment with company goals. Ensure feature prioritization is strictly grounded in real engineering capacity and build-ready specs before work is committed.

  • Adoption & Post-Release Accountability: Drive post-launch adoption mechanisms (Enablement & Adoption System) in close partnership with CS, Sales, and RevOps. Measure real user activation and feature usage after release, holding product accountable for business outcomes rather than just shipping code.

  • ROI & Data-Driven Strategy: Establish and track product KPIs/OKRs to evaluate platform performance, justify product investments with business logic, and tie feature launches directly to commercial metrics (ARR, MRR, GRR, and customer retention).

  • Proactive Stakeholder Management & Say-Do Reliability: Serve as a candid, trusted bridge across internal executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and key enterprise clients. Establish complete transparency around trade-offs and deliver on commitments without requiring executive chasing.

  • Product-Engineering & UX Resourcefulness: Partner closely with Engineering leadership (including offshore teams in ET/CT-compatible hours). Pragmatically solve for UX and design quality in a small team through creative resourcing (embedded responsibilities, AI-assisted tools, or external support).

  • Hands-On Execution & Process: Maintain a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality—writing detailed PRDs, shaping build-ready specs, and mapping workflows as needed—while keeping discovery running steadily ahead of sprint delivery.

  • Team Leadership & Org Growth: Directly manage, develop, and mentor the product management team (Senior PMs and PMs), creating clear career development pathways while elevating overall team capabilities and AI fluency.

  • Culture & Values: Promote and uphold Ethico’s values, information security standards, and commitment to privacy, ethics, and compliance.

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE AT ETHICO

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

  • Proven Track Record: Roughly 10–15 years of progressive product management experience in B2B SaaS, with proven success operating inside (and repairing) product operating models in complex workflow environments.

  • Profile: Ideal for a high-performing Group PM / Lead PM ready for a first Head of Product seat, or a Director from a growing B2B SaaS org looking for a top-seat role.

  • Location / Time Zone: Remote, but must reside in Eastern or Central Time (ET/CT) to ensure critical daily overlap with engineering leadership and executive teams.

  • Proven Activator (Say-Do Reliability): Demonstrated ability to take a process or framework, install it, and drive measurable behavior change within 90 days without dropping commitments or needing executive chasing.

  • Capacity Fluency: Experience prioritizing roadmaps based on strict engineering capacity models, estimate convergence, and build-ready definitions.

  • Hands-On Player-Coach: Willingness and capability to operate strategically while diving deep into execution (e.g., writing detailed PRDs, conducting customer discovery, scoping tickets) without becoming the team's extra PM.

  • Commercial & SaaS Metrics Literacy: Deep understanding of SaaS revenue dynamics (ARR, MRR, GRR, Churn, Customer Lifetime Value) and how product decisions directly impact retention and growth.

  • Stakeholder Diplomacy & Tenacity with Tact: Exceptional executive presence with proven skills in "managing up and across"—distinguishing real strategic needs from reactive noise while maintaining strong relationships under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience in Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC), healthcare, financial services, legal tech, or other highly regulated enterprise SaaS environments.

  • Experience operating within or building AI-native product workflows (e.g., spec generation, research synthesis, prototyping, or integrating agentic AI into SaaS roadmaps).
