Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Engineer (senior-LEVEL)

Location: Fully Remote

Required Clearance: DHS/CBP or TS clearance or any clearance like public trust or secret or FULL BI 

USC Citizen required

RATE: 165K - 170K per annum

We're looking for a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to design, build, and maintain our core cloud infrastructure. You'll be the go-to expert for all things related to GCP's foundational services, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and reliable. If you have a deep knowledge of GCP's networking, storage, database and security features, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud.

Manage core GCP services, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, firewalls, and routing tables.

Configure and maintain GCP storage solutions like Cloud Storage, Filestore, and Persistent Disk.

Oversee identity and access management (IAM) to ensure the principle of least privilege is applied.

Manage and operate cloud-native database services such as Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Bigtable, including performance tuning and high-availability configuration.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure costs.

Manage container orchestration platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications have the necessary infrastructure resources.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Platform, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineer.

8+ years of working with Cloud technologies

5+ years of experience working directly with applications or resources in Google Cloud

Deep, hands-on experience with foundational GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and VPC.

Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and VPNs within a cloud environment.

Experience with infrastructure such as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).

GCP certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) is a plus.

Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and Python

Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins or Harness

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

Existing DHS/CBP or TS clearance is a plus
